A Day at Home

It’s been about 6 weeks since I left my job. This is something I had been thinking about for a while, and once the decision was made one of the things I was most looking forward to was having more time to devote to blogging. Well, it’s taken me some time, but I suddenly felt inspired to just write. I’m not quite sure where this blog is heading. But now that I am back hopefully it will get easier to just share whatever is on my mind.

This blog is one year old! In that time I’ve written 50 posts (should be 51 but I’ve been neglecting my latest reading wrap up. It’s coming…). That’s about one a week, which I am pretty proud of, though there hasn’t been so much happening lately. It’s interesting to reflect on all of life over the past year. I finished my diploma (which feels like ages ago), I’ve gotten involved in new ministries, I’ve spent hours and hours looking after children, and read a whole lot of wonderful books. Read More »

An Arm-Full of Books

Today I was the girl walking home from the library with eight books bundled under my right arm. It sounds awkward, but I coped. One or the Other

Why do I find it so hard to get a good balance of reading and creativity? Last month I really dedicated myself to this blog, and didn’t read so much. Today I finished my ninth book for the month, and have only written one blog post up until now. Am I spending so much time in other stories that I have less time to reflect on what’s happening in my own life? I don’t spendĀ all my free time reading (I still watch plenty of youtube videos and play lots of games…), so I don’t think it’s necessarily a time issue. I haven’t spent much times engaging in other forms of creativity either, this month. A little bit of colouring, but no sewing of any kind, and my bullet journal hasn’t been receiving a lot of attention…Read More »
